lyrics
the wrapt seed
Act I: Separation:
cruel kronos
earth with her crowns descends into a black night.
we lament our Beloved
breathed out in a puff of wind
unflinching quiet sea
roaring fallen wave
deep sound in a clear song
on a bitten night
who is gone?
sorrow dripping grips me
deathless face no more
stained, furrowed
soft pillowed-layed limbs
pour.
silver cups and ivory
awash salt crusted crevice
pour.
in unison
sweat and oil
pour.
sweet oil
pour.
hollowed quiet sea
a torn garment with spilt dye
draped splitting bones
purple cloaked
twisted by the sea
-----
Act II: Liminality
blasts of wind on dry land
black drops follow
piercing voice in sweet speak
guides a clear procession
doom ripens into gentle help
memory into held remnant
of Beloved
pacifies the passage
conversed in dream
light arches face and body
full and sweet
pass the laurel and the oak
goldcrowned
under silvery moon
luminous the sea and the weed
and the shepherd
firmly fastened to the rock
-----
Act III: Reintegration
spilt pomegranate release pneuma
nacreous Beloved, a salt gilded return
sweetworded become the voice
in fleshy
enveloping
I have gone.
no grove no dance no sound
feet awash in cut shell floor
myrrh and cassia swelling
body languid meet sea bed
we loved all of this
the drift
the cherished
the wave shadow
all things remembered in another time
the salt blossom
the dashed
there will be desire for us in the aftertime
the torn
the splendour
the curled pearl
for we share in the roses
